Gilmore Girls 2
This is the second edition to my Gilmore Girls section. This part tells you about the cast, characters, much more.

Cast and Characters
Lorelai Gilmore(Lauren Graham)- Lorelai was a teenage mom now making a living at the Independence Inn. She dreams of opening her own inn one day w/ her best friend, Sookie. She is quite unique and funny and is always there to help people out. She recently broke off an engagement w/ Rory's teacher, Max and has had on again off again relationship with Rory's father, Chris. Although Luke and Lorelai have not dated, many people know that they like each other.

Rory Gilmore(Alexis Bledel)- She's Lorelai's daughter. People who don't know them often think they are sisters. Rory is the quiet one of the two, although she is not shy. She lives in Stars Hollow, but goes to school at Chilton Prep. Her dream is to go to Harvard. Her boyfriend is Dean, but lately she's been hanging out w/ Jess(Luke's nephew) a lot and has even kissed him.

Lane Kim(Keiko Agena)- Lane is Rory's best friend. She's just an Asian American girl who wants to be an average teenager. Unfortunately, her parents have a more traditional picture of who she should be.

Emily Gilmore(Kelly Bishop)-Emily is Lorelai's mother. She wanted the best for her daughter, unfortunately her daughter just wanted to make it on her own. Now that Lorelai needs money, Emily wants to make sure she gets the family togetherness she always wanted.

Richard Gilmore(Edward Herrmann)-Richard is Lorelai's loving father who, like Emily, is never afraid to share an opinion. He only wants the best for all his Gilmore girls, but sometimes his meddlesome ways are hard to take.

Sookie St.James(Melissa McCarthy)-Sookie is Lorelai's best friend and future business partner. Sookie is a whiz in the kitchen and someday she and Lorelai will open their own inn, that is if she can keep her clumsiness in check. Some days, good kitchen help is all that stands between Sookie and catastrophe. Her husband is Jackson Melville.

Dean(Jared Padalecki)-Dean is Rory's boyfriend. Although he is an important character in the show, there isn't much we know about him. He's the basic good guy and an amazing boyfriend. For Rory's birthday, he built her a car. They broke up for a brief time, but are back together as of now.

Luke Danes(Scott Patterson)-Luke owns the local diner where Lorelai and Rory go for coffee every day. He tends to be stubborn and appears rough on the outside, but is a sweet guy inside. He's interested in Lorelai, but is yet to make a move. He has recently taken in his troublemaker nephew, Jess.

Miss Patty(Liz Torres)- Miss Patty is the local dance teacher. She used to be a dancer, now she teaches ballet to children and keeps herself abreast of everything that goes on in town.

Michel Gerard(Yanic Truesdale)- Michel works at the inn with Lorelai. He's a little rude and a little reserved, but deep down - really, really deep - he's a nice guy.

Jess(Milo Ventimiglia)- Jess is the new boy in town, the bad boy of Stars Hollow. Since he's come to live with Luke, his uncle, he must work at Luke's Diner in order to earn his keep. This means a lot of contact with the Gilmore girls, especially Rory.

Paris Gellar(Liza Weil)- Paris has always been known as the brain at Chilton Academy, but now Rory Gilmore is giving her a run for her money. Often sarcastic and rarely at a loss for words, Paris always adds a little spark to whatever conversation she is participating in.

Actor/Actress of the Month
This month's actress is Keiko Agena who plays Lane Kim, Rory's best friend.
Birthday: October 26
Birthplace: Honolulu, Hawaii

About the actress: Best known for her recurring role on the WB drama Felicity as Leila Foster, a college student who inspired Felicity (Keri Russell) to stage a demonstration at the student health center, Keiko Agena now makes her debut as a series regular in Gilmore Girls.

Agena was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, where she lived until she was 17. She made her acting debut at age 10 with a small part in the play The Best Christmas Pageant Ever and enjoyed the experience so much, she decided to continue performing. Her parents were very supportive, with her mother taking her to auditions and helping her memorize lines for roles in community theater productions.

After high school, Agena studied drama at Whitman College in Washington state. She came to Los Angeles during the summer break after her first year and never returned. Her first professional audition came before she had a chance to take head shots, so her agent improvised and took Polaroids of her. Fate intervened and she wound up getting the role nonetheless, a guest spot on the television series Renegade.

Since then, Agena has guest-starred as the mother of a deaf boy on ER, and a student reporter on Sister, Sister, as well as appearing on Beverly Hills, 90210.

Keiko also played the lead in the feature film Hundred Percent, an independent Asian-American drama featuring the interwoven stories of three couples.

Besides her TV work, Agena belongs to hereandnow, an Asian-American theater company that performs at colleges and festivals across the country. Performances consist of interwoven stories, many taken from the lives of the performers. In Generations, for example, the actors discuss their ancestors- where they were born and how they came to the United States.

Lane's Quote of the Week: "Rory, if my parents still get upset over the obscene portion size of American food, I seriously doubt I'm gonna make any inroads with Eminem. "
